Passive and Active Studying.
Recently, I was doing my Japanese homework while listening to an album by Boa, she is a Korean singer who is very popular in Japan, but that's another subject. While listening to the music I realized that I could understand most of what she was singing but I would have difficulty repeating it. I started to wonder why listening and speaking are so different. While I have always felt that talking with my Japanese friends was more important, towards learning the language, than reading a manga or watching a Japanese drama, I did not realize why.

Japanese the language of land of the rising sun and for those people studying the language or who wish to, it is an achievable and worthy goal. In the several years that I have studied Japanese I have found one solid unchanging truth, the only way to become better at using Japanese is to use it. If you study or practice on a regular bases you will get better. Often times it seems as if you are not getting anywhere and you are wasting your time or you think you are doing something wrong, but you are not. Unless you have the opportunity to live in Japan where you are exposed to the language 24 hours a day it will take time to be able to
